On 19th March 1933,to Edith and Cyril Romans was delivered a son, Joseph Howard - sometimes known "Taff" reflecting his roots in the Rhonnda Valley. Dad was one of four Children,the others being of Betty,Glynn and Steve. After schooling, like many of Lads from "The Valleys" Dad started work at the coal mines. after a while he soon signed up to join the Royal Marines and served his country for some twelve years.this brought him south to Devon and he met a young lady Joan and after courting they married on the 19th December 1956, Their union was blessed with 5 Children Steve, Janice, Colin, Gayla and Ian. After leaving the Royal Marines, Dad worked for many vears as a Steel Erector before taking that well worn path to the Royal Dockyard where he worked until retirement. A keen supporter of Rugby he would regularly attend Plymouth Albion Home and Away matches, he also loved his national team of Wales. Dad also has 7 Grandchildren, Gary(Janice)- Mellisa & Lee(Gayla)- Glen & Greg(Colin) - Nico & Connor(Ian & Josie) Dad has also 2 great grandchildren Mia(Nico) and Jack(Mellisa)
